FRP mineral tanks are used in diameters of 20 cm (8 ") and 160 cm (63") in water treatment applications. FRP mineral tanks are manufactured by wrapping fiberglass on a polyethylene sheath. FRP is a fiber wound on the outer surface which provides resistance against pressure in tanks. While FRP tanks are resistant to positive pressure, they are not vacuum-resistant tanks. For this reason, a vacuum breaker must be applied to FRP tank applications. Lateral diffusers are used as the subdistribution structure in FRP tanks.
